November 21-25
It looks like another great week of fall weather. Colder in the morning and sunny for the walk home. It is pretty awesome that riding a bike to school near the end of November is still possible. Student-Involved Conferences We look forward to meeting with parents and students this week during conferences and hope you have had an opportunity to book your conference. You can continue to book a conference on line until Wednesday evening. The November conferences will be Student Involved. You will still book a 15 minute sit-down appointment with your child’s teacher. You are also invited to arrive 15-20 minutes early (or stay later – until 7:30PM or 12:00PM) to view some of your child’s learning artefacts and participate in some learning activities too. We feel your conference will be informative and successful by having the opportunity to see your child in action and have them share the great work and learning they have been a part of as part of the conference format. When booking conference times, especially for multiple children, please consider the viewing/participating component of your time at the school. New Brighton School will also be hosting an Usborne Book Fair during Conferences. Visit the Learning Commons to browse and order. Proceeds will support our Learning Commons print collection. Warm Feet for the Street Family Evening Please RSVP with the invitation provided for our Warm Feet for the Street Family Evening on December 7th. We want to make sure we have enough socks, supplies and treats for everyone. Check out the video prepared by a Grade 2 class outlining the organization we are supporting and some of the learning that is going on in our classes around this event. http://schools.cbe.ab.ca/b193/ This Week November 24 – No School for Kindergarten – Conferences all Day November 24 – Early Dismissal (11:45AM) for Gr 1-4 November 25 – No School K-4 - Conferences
